The Drunken Hearts meld both electrified and acoustic in an alt-Americana five-piece flaunting a greasy country rock flecked with a touch of bluegrass barn dance. Their tempestuous and fiery sound is delivered honestly, with thoughtful, passionate songs of love and loss drawn from a deep lyrical well. Allman Brothers influences waft through rowdy guitar-riffs and sincere vocals tipping multiple hats to both the rich legacy of the country tradition and the soul of southern rock. Pushing the limits of interpretation in their contemporary edge, the group is spirited yet delicate, magnetic and catchy, jam-inspired enough to make you dance, a young powerhouse on the rise. They’ve played the Brooklyn Bowl in New York, a sell-out show at the famed Nectar’s in Vermont, and Garcia’s in the Capitol Theatre to name a few, along with festivals from the Hangtown Music Festival in California to Colorado’s YarmonyGrass. Hailing from the Centennial state’s high country, The Drunken Hearts are Andrew McConathy (acoustic guitar), Jon McCartan (bass), Cody Russell (pedal and lap steel, banjo), Kory Montgomery (electric guitar), and Alex Johnson (drums).
