Contemporary jazz group, The Lao Tizer Band, is driven by an explosive mix of jazz, rock, classical, jam band, Afro Cuban and world rhythms. Rising to the top of the world-fusion genre, this scintillating five-piece, multi-cultural band creates dynamic instrumental music rich with fresh melodic, harmonic and improvisational possibilities. Their intensity, expansive arrangements and exciting soloing won them a nomination for “Jazz Group of the Year,” while band leader Lao Tizer was nominated as “Best New Jazz Artist.”
