Henna Design
Henna tattoos are a beautiful example of self-expression. People of ancient India and Egypt used this temporary tattooing for religious ceremonies, wedding festivals, traditional rites of passage, and simple body adornment. Instructor, Tori Carpenter, teaches the history of and contemporary uses of henna, and how to apply this ancient paste to the hands and feet in a practice known as Mehndi. Design options and ides are provided, but attendees are also encouraged to create their own detailed designs and masterpieces!
After henna is applied, it remains on the skin for minimum one hour to ensure stain – overnight is best. Once completely dry, the henna is removed, and the user is left with a unique design that lasts for 1-4 weeks, depending on skin type and activities. Instructor: Tori Carpenter.
