Red Molly’s trio of voices blend together like honey and whiskey in their soaring, signature harmonies caramelized with rich, varied tones. Their innovative instrumentation is perfectly suited for bluegrass-tinged barnburners and heart-full ballads alike wandering amongst the genres of classic country heartbreak, undeniable swing, authentic folk, gospel rock with an edge, and Americana stomp. Their newest endeavors are their edgiest to date - darkly percussive and wildly cool - their reverb-heavy noir-storytelling still underpinned by exquisite vocal clarity. Abbie Gardner (Dobro) is the balladeer in the sawdust bar making us cry into our beers. Molly Venter (guitar) is the mirror, finding the familiar truths of loss and the full joy of love. Laurie MacAllister (bass) is the storyteller; cracking open the heart and running like a train through the landscape of our memories. They’ve brought their joyous music to both MerleFest and RockyGrass. All proceeds from this special concert benefit the new Center building.
