Cornmeal is the rockin’ slam-grass live hoedown you are looking for. Their high energy bluegrass is both traditional and unconventional, grounded in mainstay influences from David Grisman to John Hartford, yet unafraid to venture into a hybridized dance-grass styling that also includes the Talking Heads, Paul Simon and the Grateful Dead. Their jam approach assures an exploratory eclectic show and the communal feeling of living a one-of-a-kind experience with a family of fellow concert goers. They pride themselves on their electric live performances in intimate venues where they whip small crowds into a limb-rousing frenzy, but also have the talent to rally the multitudes at venues such as High Sierra Music Festival, Bonnaroo, Wakarusa Music Festival and Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Playing both acoustic and plugged in, and with no territorial boundaries, Chicago based Cornmeal rides the fence with expert musicianship, lightning fast tempos and impeccable harmonies. Dead-family mainstay and psychedelic banjo madman Wavy Dave Burlingame is joined by Chris Gangi (upright bass), Scott Tipping (guitar), Phillip Roach (fiddle) and Drew Littell (drums). 8:00 p.m. Regular: $20
