A Special Evening with Anders Osborne
Featuring Live Painter John Bukaty

Show Date: Thursday, August 3, 2017  8:00 p.m.

Tickets: $45 early bird/ $50 week of the show

Anders Osborne will play solo for this special performance with artist John Bukaty who will create a 8x8 foot backdrop where he is painting in time with the music--an "Illustrative Narration" of the song lyrics.  A painting will be completed with each song and the art work includes a mixed medium of acrylics and collage.
Raging, expressive guitar. Soulful, rugged singing. A phenomenal blend of self-awareness, spirit and muscle. These are just some of the words Relix Magazine uses to describe New Orleans’ blues guitar man Anders Osborne. Ranging from electric mayhem to acoustic melodicism, hard-hitting rock to tender ballads, Anders’ emotionally explosive lyrics and raw guitar work embrace the full spirit of the blues – stories of struggling to survive addiction, confessionals of hard truth and healing. New Orleans' Gambit Weekly recently honored Osborne as “Entertainer of the Year,” he’s OffBeat’s three-time winner of “Best Guitarist,” and twice named their “Best Songwriter.” He’s appeared on Galactic albums, co-written songs with Tab Benoit and Mike Zito, had Johnny Lang record others, and most notably wrote two songs for Keb’ Mo’s Grammy-winning album, Slow Down. Risk-taking anthems, precision guitar playing and the tremulous wail rising from emotional chaos have Guitar Player calling him the “poet laureate of Louisiana’s fertile roots music scene.”

John Bukaty is a pioneer of the live painting movement. Sixteen years ago he started live painting a weekly band at a Kansas City brewpub, but has since traveled across the country and the world for his work, painting in places like India, Ireland and Mexico. Bukaty created important commissions for Chipotle, Sprint, Comcast, Western Union, Budweiser and Jameson. He was selected to commemorate events like New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundations festivals, Tostito’s Fiesta Bowl, the American Century celebrity golf championship and Kanrocksas Music Festival. Celebrity collectors of his work include Matthew McConaughey, Penelope Cruz, J.J. Cale, John Popper, Kansas Jayhawks coach Bill Self, Steve Winwood and New Orleans Saints player Zac Strief.  He has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for organizations like YMCA, The American Cancer Society, Community Service League, the SPCA and The Halo Foundation.
